Review Of Digital Wedding Secrets

I recently got my hands on Digital Wedding Secrets by Nick Smith. I don't review too many books and frankly speaking I dont have time for it either. However, I had to take care of this one because Nick contacted me on email and phone and personally requested it.

Let me tell you something about Nick, he is neither one of those expert celebrity photographers and nor does he claim to be one. He is just an ordinary guy like you who decided to pick up wedding photography as a business. As most of us would do, he looked over Internet to find the right information. What he found was quite surprising and shocking, it looked as if wedding photography was a closed industry. And that is quite true. The entry barrier to this industry has been set very high. Most of the information available is protected and is available only to people who can shell out big sum of money.

So what is this digital wedding secret all about? This book is a genuine attempt to reveal the simplest yet the most powerful secrets of wedding photography. The techniques given in this book are effective and simple but if you don't have this book then you will have to go to some university to learn them. Nick has done a fair job in explaining techniques like how to do professional framing and shooting for inanimate objects at the wedding. From my experience I learnt wedding photography is not much about brilliant photography, it is more abut those emotions that the photographs can generate.

Nick's experience is seen in the book as he discusses about techniques on how to shoot people at weddings, how to take those amazing candid shots that rekindle the memories, he tells you how to take pictures of the wedding place and how to shoot beautiful backgrounds. I am sure any beginner will find these ideas really great. It can almost take you to the next level immediately.

While this book covers a lot of techniques on wedding photography, the book itself is not just about photography. The book has high quality information on running wedding photography as a business. Nick has gone beyond the call of duty and taken pains to get a lot of stuff done e.g. checklists of all the poses to be taken. I know some people charge 20-50 dollars just for these checklists. He has designed sample contracts that one should use in practice with their clients. Nick shows you how and where to advertise. His suggestions of wisdom include how to impress wedding guests and get more referrals from your clients. This is really good stuff for a person with a vision to grow and create a brand for himself. Many amateur and struggling wedding photographers are brilliant at the art of photography but they lack the business skills. I am quite confident that this book is going to be of very good help for all these learners.
